9th Annual Walk to Cure Cancer
Rock ’n’ roll entertainer Chubby Checker gave a free concert alongside the Chickee's Dance World's dancers at the 9th Annual Walk to Cure Cancer. According to Susan Wagner, event organizer “Chubby Checker lost his mother to colon cancer recently, and when he heard about the event, he was immediately willing to come perform.” The Walk to Cure Cancer is the largest single day fundraising event in Central New England, and in 2007 over 10,000 walkers raised a record number in cash contributions.
